Rules

  1. Always credit me - Masha Tate or mashatate.deviantart.com is sufficient credit. Additional links - such as my other galleries or profiles - are not sufficient credit on their own, but if you are on the same platform, they're certainly appreciated.

  2. Do not make major edits without permission, nor source out said edits without permission. Cropping for icon or character profile do not need permission.

  3. Do not sell my work for a profit. If you sell the character, you may recoup your costs if the work goes with it. Notification of the work changing hands is greatly appreciated, to avoid possible alerts of art-theft!

  4. My work is not for commercial use as-is. If you have commercial interests, you will need to contact me to form a contract.

  5. You will not receive your full artwork if you have not paid in full, and I reserve the rights to sell the art, with or without alterations, if you fail to pay.

  6. I reserve the right to deny a commission for any reason and at any time, including due to abuse from the client, or art I am not comfortable doing. Abusive clients will not get refunds. If your commission has to be ended early for any particular reason, be it by my own volition or yours, I will keep money for however much time I have already spent, and refund the rest. Unless I have done absolutely no work already, I can not give a full refund!

  7. Paypal only. Unless we've come to an agreement otherwise. I will send you an invoice - please discuss with me if you need options to pay in installments.

FAQ

How many commissions at a time do you take?

One at a time! Well, that's what I'm trying for, anyway. While I may be open to more than one piece from the same client at one time, I kindly request to not be asked to do more than two at once. It's very stressful! :'D

When can I expect to see my art?

In most cases, within a week. Generally, if I'm not busy at the time of accepting, I will begin right away. There are of course times where your art may not be done so quickly, but I will let you know - and if I'm already aware of a delay, I will set that expectation ahead of time. :)

What's the process?

All art is to be paid up-front. In most cases, I will review your information, ask relevant questions, then get to sketching. I will show you a sketch, and, once I gain approval (and after any needed edits), I will then proceed to finish the art. I will usually keep you updated throughout the process.

Can I watch / Will you livestream?

Yep! Absolutely. However - be aware that I work full time, and a very late shift. Your best bet is to catch me on a Tuesday or Wednesday.

Can I purchase art from you and have someone else finish it?

Sorry, no. I'm very uncomfortable with other people editing my work when I have no say-so in it, nor do I wish for my name to be associated with an unknown outcome.

Are your prices set in stone?

In general, yes. However, as long as you're not low-balling me, I'm willing to consider different pricing, or bartering. Just be respectful. :)

Do you do art trades?

Yep! However, art is very subjective, and everyone has different tastes. Please don't be upset if I turn you down.

Can I have my art printed?

For you personally, yes. I can upload the art to sources such as Redbubble for you to have your art printed on products, and remove any profit I'd make off of it so you're just paying production costs / fees. For anything beyond personal use, however - no. If you would like to seek a commercial license for art by me, please discuss this with me beforehand, as this would alter the pricing.

Will you draw my pet?

I'd love to! Please make sure you have many well-lit photos handy, preferably from many angles.

Do you do requests / free art?

In general, no. I will occasionally post on my Deviantart that I am open for requests, but there will be a specific set of rules. If you would like to see one of my own characters in various situations, however, I am open to suggestions at any time.

Can I commission you for a comic / animation?

Sorry, I'm not open to doing that sort of work at this moment.

Can I commission you for smut?

Yes - I have special pricing for that, in fact. Please note, however, that what I am willing to do has to in general be tasteful. I will not to art of extreme fetishes, nor anything illegal or in poor taste. When in doubt, ask. :)

Can I have your personal contact details?

Unless we are friends - nope! In general it's not terribly hard to get in direct contact with me, but please be considerate and do your best to respect my privacy. Thanks!
